Thanks to facebook friends I discovered a great site to trace walking/running routes – www.gmap-pedometer.com
Check out my current morning routine.
I like a good coffee. Other thing that I like is a great coffee. And despite what many people think about coffee in USA there are places to get the great coffee here.
Here is the list of my favorite cafes in NYC with a great coffee. I rarely drink anything else besides espresso, so I am a little bit biased to this drink.
1) Cafe Grumpy
They have two locations, the one in Chelsea is on 224 West 20th Street between 7th and 8th avenue. They are my favorite by wide margin. Friendly atmosphere, great choice of coffee for any taste. They are so good that when I go to Manhattan I park somewhere around, so I can enjoy their coffee on the way in and the way out. What I especially like is that they offer their own blend of espresso, and some other ‘exotic’ kind. It is always pleasure to taste something new.

2) Gimme! Coffee
Gimme! Coffee probably makes the best espresso, but they have good and bad days. Also I never was able to find parking around and there is no seating place in the cafe. Gimme! is pretty much “get a jolt and go” kind of cafe. I always go there if I am photographing or walking in the area.
3) Joe the art of coffee
I really like Joe’s cafe at Waverly Place. It is very nice inside with a lot of seating space and photographs on the walls. Their espresso blend is not in my taste, but they make to its best.

Ran a Resolution Run in Hillsborough, NJ on January 1st, 2009. Idea was to make some resolutions for the coming year and show your dedication to them by running 5km race. There were 500 people there racing. It was sunny and windy outside. Also it was quite cold, from -5C down to -12C when windy.
It was my first run in such cold weather, so I overdressed a little. There were a couple people there wearing t-shirts and shorts. Bad idea, they all started in front of me and finished last.
I ran just a little in December, and ate way too much the day and night before race, so my results are not impressive. Still I am very happy to finish at 27:26s with 8:50s per mile pace.
I wore the following:
dry-fit shorts, wind and water resistant pants, long socks, running sneakers,
long sleeved t-shirt with moisture management, cotton short sleeved t-shirt (not needed), wind and water resistant jacket, cotton hoodie (given at the race),
gloves, eye glasses and hat that covers ears.
Resolution Run was a great fun!
One of the best flash presentations that I ever saw – Tag Heuer watches catalog.
Smart people know exactly why new ideas will not work. Dumb people have no this problem.
